I was so inspired when I visited Nantucket to interview New York Times bestselling author Nancy Thayer for my online book group in May of 2021. It was my very first visit, and I absolutely loved it! The idea of getting cut off from the mainland during too much fog or a big storm—to the point that even the supply boats couldn’t get through—was especially intriguing to me. What would that be like? I wondered. So I came up with Mariners Island, a fictitious setting I placed in the same general area as Nantucket, so I could imagine it all for myself.

If you recognize Mariners Island, you probably read THE SEASIDE LIBRARY! Both books are set on the island but are not directly connected (although the library is in both and so is one character).
In THE SEASIDE LIBRARY, Ariana, Ivy and Cam grew up on the island as year-rounders and are especially close because they stay when everything else seems to ebb away like the tide. That bond is why Ariana and Ivy cover for Cam in the face of a pretty big accusation. If you missed reading this book, definitely grab a copy!
